Richard Headrick

What will it take to get the toughest biker into God’s Word? Richard Headrick knows.

Mississippian Richard Headrick doesn’t seem like a typical 66-year-old Southern gentleman. That’s because this ponytailed Harley rider likes to be called a Hellfighter and takes on outlaw bikers, drug addicts and prison inmates with a direct call to bow to Jesus.

“I gave the devil the first 47 years of my life, so I’ve got to live to be 94 to give God equal time,” quips the successful businessman who started a motorcycle ministry, Hellfighters International, with his wife Gina in 2000. The Headricks and their Hellfighters chapter members have already given away 45,000 NIV New Testaments with “The Hellfighter Search and Rescue Handbook” imprinted on the cover. The custom New Testaments include Psalms and Proverbs and 36 pages of testimonies and special helps.

“It’s just been incredible because so many people we deal with have never heard of Jesus,” says Richard, a former hellion himself. Through Hellfighters thousands have committed their lives to the Lord both in America and overseas.

“We like to get people into the Word since that’s straight from the horse’s mouth,” explains Richard who is also building a number of 24-hour rescue missions. “We like the Hellfighter Handbook because it doesn’t look like a sissy book, and it’s a hit with the big ol’ bad biker dudes, too.”

And when it comes to fighting against the gates of hell, only the strong arm of God’s Word will do.
